These are a few tips that can help you ensure that as many of your members as possible are up-to-date on their accounts.

1. Stay in Contact with Your Members

First of all, make sure that you stay in contact with your members. If you don't, then it can be easy for them to forget to pay you. If a credit card or electronic bank account payment does not go through, then you should notify the member immediately. If some members pays their accounts with cash, money orders, or another similar form of payment, then you may need to send out invoices to help remind your customers, and encourage them to pay on time. 2. Don't Let Accounts Stay Unpaid for Too Long

Giving your customers a short grace period to make their payment can be a good way to maintain a good business relationship with them, but beyond that, you will probably want to cut off their access until they bring their account current.

3. Encourage Payments for Longer Terms

When possible, it's a good idea to encourage your customers to pay upfront for longer terms, such as for six months or a year at a time. This simplifies things for you and helps you avoid having to chase down payments each month. Consider encouraging this by offering a lower per-month price for customers that pay for longer terms at once or by offering some other type of perk.

As you can see, there are a few things that you can do to help you prevent unpaid accounts at your gym. Even though some unpaid accounts might still happen, you are sure to see positive changes with your gym's cash flow if you focus on these three things.
